Barca Blue

I’m finally getting round to posting some photos from Barcelona! It’s amazing the difference a blue sky makes. It was only about 18-20°C but sunshine and a blue sky makes everything feel warmer. Barcelona is extremely photogenic so expect more!

Having a flick through my photos, it becomes obvious that I like to capture things in contrast with the sky in different shades of blue. I’m trying to keep an eye on the kinds of things I like to photograph. Food is an obvious one, though I haven’t in a while. Perhaps that should be my next mission.

I’ve been ill this week so unfortunately I haven’t been able to take any new shots. Instead, I’m finally getting round to putting up these from last weekend when I was on the South Bank. From these, you wouldn’t even have an inkling that it’s November. You might from my lack of voice, though.

My brother and I embarked on a road trip down to the south coast yesterday. He just passed his driving test last week so we decided to go on an adventure. The drive down was so much fun, especially when accompanied by his awesome 80s playlist. Who knew the Rocky soundtracks were so good??

The last time we were in Rye, it was a grey, windy and miserable day. Yesterday it was just beautiful so now we can think of it like that instead.

Having spent much of the weekend packing and sorting through my belongings, I haven’t had much of a chance to say goodbye to Richmond. I move out next weekend but have to get everything ready in advance because I’m working full-time. These photos are from last Sunday, when my friend Sam and I walked all the way along from Richmond to Kingston, and then wandered back to Richmond in time for sunset. I’ll miss the 45-minute walk home from Richmond – the perfect opportunity to let off steam at the end of a long day. For some reason, I doubt Camden will be as picturesque as Richmond, but it will certainly be an easier commute without the dreaded 65 bus and gridlocked narrow roads in the mornings.

Now then, now then. Off to continue wading through my masses of things. This week is going to be busy and exhausting, but I have nothing to complain about so I hope I can keep a smile on my face despite the inevitable tiredness!

I decided to rebel slightly against my penchant for all things twinkly and pretty and give you some good, honest urban structures. They’re pleasing in their own way. It’s amazing what a bit of clear, blue sky and a few shadows can do.
