Keeping Mum

I like hanging out at my mum’s house. From the constant buzz of north London to that tiny residential sliver where (so-called) London meets countryside, it’s a welcome break. My mum has always loved flowers, as you can see from her garden above. It’s the perfect place to sit with the dog (I may post pics another time) when everyone else is out.

Sunny intervals

Yet again it has been a while. I’ll admit I’ve just not had much of an urge to pick up my camera recently, except for photographing my friends. I doubt the sight of me and my friends posing away at parties makes for very appealing viewing. I had the day off yesterday and decided to go out and take some snaps as it was such a warm day. I visited Maash (whom you’ve met before) in Greenwich (more on that next time), then got the DLR back to Bank and took a long walk. I might as well be blindfolded around that part of London, but somehow I managed to navigate myself back to the West End to meet my friends for a late afternoon drink. And I didn’t even cheat and use the sat nav on my Blackberry. I’m getting better at this – I figure there’s no better way than getting a bit lost to learn my way around the different pockets of the city.

Larks in the park

Photos from messing around in Regent’s Park on bank holiday Monday. After a lunch of Indonesian cuisine and gelato from Scoop, Bethany and I met up with a few of my friends in Camden and we went and had some drinks in the park. Look how earthy and tree-loving they are.

I’m off to Kenya tomorrow night. I hope that when I get back, life takes on a slower pace. I miss having time to spend doing nothing – this week has been quite crazy in a number of ways and looking back at these photos is making me pine for the time when I had more opportunities to be silly in parks and other places. Won’t complain – Kenya awaits.

Frolics in the wind and the rain

I really needed a pick-me-up today, so who better to go for afternoon tea with than the lovely Ben of Ben Farrell Illustration? We also frolicked briefly around Bloomsbury.

Fingers crossed for further adventures with Ben next week!

For your enjoyment, here is a video of the silent flash rave that took place in the SOAS library. I loved that library. This video makes me miss it and the crazy things to be found within it.
