Gaudi’s Barcelona

I know this sounds terribly pretentious, but I can only recommend going to Barcelona to get a real sense of Gaudi’s creations. Photos don’t do him justice as the sheer magnitude of, for example, the Sagrada Familia is something you really experience relative to your own size. That said, you can still get some pretty shots.

Barca Blue

I’m finally getting round to posting some photos from Barcelona! It’s amazing the difference a blue sky makes. It was only about 18-20°C but sunshine and a blue sky makes everything feel warmer. Barcelona is extremely photogenic so expect more!

London Bridge way

I went on a little wander a few nights ago. I got off the bus early at Old Street and walked down to London Bridge (I’ve done that walk a few times and quite like it). Reaching London Bridge just after sunset, it looked really pretty so I took a few shots to share. I’m off to Barcelona in the morning for my annual long weekend jaunt with Sam, so I’m sure I’ll come back with some good photos!

Views of Athens

I know these are long overdue! The onset of winter has made me lethargic and lazy. These are a mix of shots from Athens. I can’t adequately sum up Athens. I’ve visited a number of cities and I’ve never experienced anything like the views Athens has to offer, and there are so many vantage points from which to see them. Seeing the city from such height gave me a sense of just how massive cities are and, in the case of Athens, just how old and sprawling they can be.

It’s all Greek to me

Greece was stunning. Athens is an amazing city for history and the views were unbelievable. Here are a few shots from around the Acropolis to get the ball rolling. More to come!

A Polski Adventure

I wish I could sum up for you just how much I loved Gdansk. It’s pretty, historically rich and lively. We were there during the Santa Dominika festival and the city was buzzing. I can’t lie and say I did the full works in terms of seeing the sights – the itinerary for my cousin’s wedding was quite intense (lots of parties). But still, everyone left Gdansk in agreement that we would all love to go back soon. I was (predictably) worse for wear and asleep for the drive to the wedding venue (which was next to the beauuuuutiful lake pictured above) so I have no idea what the area was called, but it was about an hour and a half’s drive from Gdansk.

What we ate (or thought about eating)

We ate so much in Berlin. So much. It was glorious, a gastronomical festival. We had ice cream every day (no photos, too busy eating it) and literally satisfied every hungry whim we had. Amazing.
