HeadingĀ East

I’m not a regular visitor to Brick Lane but I always enjoy myself when I do go. So much is squeezed into such a small area that it feels a bit like a tourist resort – especially with all the restauranteurs trying to encourage you in from the street. My friends and I ended up in a Syrian restaurant. Our table backed onto the street, which was not without its interesting al-fresco dining experiences, I’ll tell you. You certainly get some characters in London sometimes.

Art holds fast when all else is lost.

I wandered around Brick Lane the other week with a couple of friends. We found an amazing ukelele shop but I was too awestruck to remember to take any photos. I’ll have to venture back! I’m looking for a good ukulele in the hope of rekindling an interest in playing music again. There were sparkly ones, so this plan might work. A degree in politics may have just ruined me for anything creative, but we shall see!
